I’ve always loved to make up my own words, and when I wanted a word to express a quality of life that encompasses wellbeing but also incorporates the abundance and purpose that comes with aligning to your divine nature, the word wellthy was easy to find.
In fact, I wasn’t the first to combine wellness with wealthy. There’s a 13 year old article in the Huffington Post entitled ‘Wellthy’: Possessing the Resources and Resourcefulness to Thrive in All Life Domains. And Google describes it as: having an abundance of health, happiness, and overall life balance rather than just money, with key elements described as ‘physical health, mental peace, life balance and purpose’.
What drove me to look for this term was the fact that in the past I have experienced a conflict between 3 key areas in my life, wellness, abundance and purpose and I wanted to find a word to express the sense of harmony I was finally experiencing with these three things in balance.
At times in my past, the drive to find a sense of purpose or support myself financially has put a strain on my wellbeing. I found myself working too many hours or pushing to get something done.
When my energy was very limited the satisfaction, I got from my sense of purpose was easier to find than spending my energy in other areas of my life and there was often little life balance. In addition, supporting myself financially with what I knew to be my divine purpose was a struggle for many years.
But as I grew spiritually and found more faith in my connection to the divine and more trust in my inner wisdom; as I started focusing on all the wonderful things in my life as opposed to what was lacking, and as I stopped grasping and opened to receive, I found that things started to unfold in a much more harmonious manner.
I discovered that wellbeing, abundance and purpose are all expressions of the same source of energy and that connecting with that source, opening to it, surrendering to it, will bring you all three.
In practice, working with this energy means trusting your inner wisdom enough to know that when your body is calling for rest, it isn’t stopping you from creating your desires or making you wait until you can get back at it. Rest is a part of the creative process. Learning to respect your wellness needs is all part of divine purpose.
I’ve discovered that resistance to any aspect of the flow of this ‘wellth’ energy can block the flow of it in all areas. Becoming wellthy, means aligning to this energy, letting go of resistance and unlearning the conditioning that gets in its way. Although we can become successful in different areas of our life without this alignment, it’s unlikely to result in a rich and harmonious quality of life.
I’ve named my business Joyfully Wellthy because Joy is such an important part of a richly rewarding life and also a beautiful sign of alignment with the divine.
What do you think of the term Joyfully Wellthy? Does it have meaning for you? Is it a term you’d like to be able to use to describe your life?
